We Are Chinese Comfort Food
These bustling noodles and dumpling restaurants, run by the Chang family of Genghis Khan Mongolian Barbecue fame, are some of the best Chinese food restaurants in Kansas City dining. Step through the brightly colored doors and into a warm, hip scene. The long, high-ceilinged rooms with big windows are set off with sponged blue walls trimmed in bright yellow and red. Patrons can view the activity of the busy staff preparing the fresh, imaginative dishes in the open kitchen at the back of the restaurant.
Opened in early 2002, Blue Koi Midtown quickly developed a loyal following. Named the “Best Ethnic Restaurant ” by Ingram’s Magazine, the Blue Koi local restaurants has pleased patrons with dishes such as Ants on a Tree, a colorful dish of cellophane Chinese noodles tossed with delicately spiced ground pork and bits of cabbage and chopped carrots.
